Chamaleon

Chameleons have specialized cells, chromatophores, which contain pigments in their cytoplasm, in three layers below their transparent outer skin:
  1. The cells in the upper layer, called xanthophores and erythrophores, contain yellow and red pigments respectively.
  2. Below these is a second layer of cells called iridophores or guanophores; these contain guanine, appearing blue or white.
  3. The deepest layer of cells, melanophores, contain the dark pigment melanin, controlling how much light is reflected.
Dispersion of the pigment granules in the chromatophores sets the intensity of each color. When the pigment is equally distributed in a chromatophore, the whole cell is intensively colored. When the pigment is located only in the centre of the cell, the cell appears mainly transparent. Chromatophores can rapidly relocate their particles of pigment, thereby influencing the animal's color. Chromatophores change because the cells get a message from the brain.

St. George's day

Happy Saint George's day.
In St. George's festivity in Catalonia is typical that the boy gives a rose to his loved girl and the girl gives a book to the boy.

St. George's day is celebrated in and around Catalonia.
St. George's Day has been celebrated since 1436. St. George is the patron Saint of Catalonia
Catalonia : In Catalonia St. George's day coincides with the Fair of the Book and the Rose. On this day every man offers a rose to his loved one (wife or fiancée), and in return she gives him a book. The book is in memory of Cervantes. This custom was started in 1926, to commemorate Cervantes death (authour of "Don Quiote").

The Legend.
The 23rd April is a date that has always been linked, either directly or indirectly, to literature and popular traditions.

The Catalan knights that set off towards the Orient could never have guessed the repercussions that their tales would have with relation to a local saint: St. George. Later the tale would be changed to fit in with the mediaeval traditional Knight in shining armor fighting evil.

The legend that was born is infamous: St. George fighting the wicked dragon that held the princess captive. Finally St. George  kills the dragon and on the spot where the dragons blood was spilled a rose grew as a symbol of love and friendship.
But what has really given importance to this date is that it is now considered to be the "World Book Day"
The role played by the "Renaixença" in the resurrection of the "Jocs Florals"
Thanks to the insistence of Antoni de Bofarull among others, the literary competitions were revived in Catalonia in 1859. It was from then on that there began to appear new authors and ideologists and there was an important increase in the number of newspapers published as well as political and ideological works.

After the interruption of the "Jocs Florals" because of the Civil War   they began to become very popular again from 1978. The idea of these annual literary competitions was basically to stimulate young people to cultivate and take a delight in the Catalan literature and language. Ever since then this tradition has been celebrated and is actually one of the most important  in Catalonia, it has gradually spread to the Spanish language and also to the English language.

In 1996 this Catalan tradition became an International one, taking one step more towards the unification of peoples all over the world, even the mythical rose was given in the United States, Japan and France as well as other countries when a book was bought.

First Conditional

If it doesn’t rain, the frogs won’t sing.
If the frogs don’t sing, they will go aboard.
If the frogs go aboard, there will be a lot of flies.
If there are a lot of flies, spiders will grow up.
If spiders grow up, people will be frightened.
If people are frightened, they will have a heart attack
If people have a heart attack, they will become zombies.
If there are zombies, they will extinct life on the planet except the butterflies.
If there are only butterflies, they will starve.
If they  starve, the specie will  extinct.
If the specie extincts, everything will start again.
If everything starts again, new life will appear.

Lolita Fashion

Lolita fashion is a fashion subculture originating in Japan that is based on Victorian-era clothing as well as costumes from the Rococo period, but the style has expanded greatly beyond these two.
The movement started in the late 1970s when famous labels including Pink House, Milk and Pretty, began selling clothes that would be considered "Lolita" by today's standards. In the 1990s, Lolita fashion became better recognized, with bands coming into popularity at the time. Today, Lolita fashion has gained global popularity and can be found even in department stores in JapanLolita fashionis a fashion subculture originating in Japan that is based on Victorian-era clothing as well as costumes from the Rococo period, but the style has expanded greatly beyond these two.
There are a lot of style types of Lolita fashion:

  • Gothic Lolita:  Is a combination of the Gothic and Lolita fashion. GothLoli fashion is characterized by darker make-up and red lipstick. Lolitas uses dark clothes, cross jewelry, religious symbols, bags and purses in shapes like bats, coffins, and crucifixes are also used to accessorize the Gothic Lolita look.

  • Sweet Lolita or ama-loli: Focusing on the fantasy aspects of Lolita, the Sweet Lolita style adopts the basic Lolita format and uses lighter colors and childlike motifs in its design.Makeup used in sweet Lolita are pink, peach, or pearl. Styles are highly 'sweet' and used by many Sweet Lolitas. This look, paired with a shade of bright pink,   red or sometimes nude-pink lipstick, is commonly used as well. Outfits consist of pastels, fruit themes , flowers, lace, bows, animal themes, and ribbons to emphasize the cuteness of the design. Jewelry often reflects this fantasy theme. Headdresses, bonnets and bows are a popular hair accessory to the sweet Lolita look. Bags and purses usually have a princess-like design and often take the shape of strawberries, crowns, hearts, and stuffed animals.

  • Classic Lolita: Colors and patterns used in classic Lolita can be seen as somewhere between the Gothic looking and sweet styles.Designs containing a-lines, as well as Empire waists are also used to add to the more mature look of the classic style. Shoes and   accessories are less whimsical and more functional. The makeup used in classic Lolita is often a more muted version of the sweet Lolita makeup, with an emphasis placed on natural coloring.

  • Punk Lolita:  Lolita Punk  adds punk fashion elements to Lolita fashion. The most popular   garments are blouses or cutsews and skirts, although dresses and jumper skirts are also worn. Common footwear includes boots with platforms.

My Dream Comes True

I have always wanted a dog. Last summer, my mother's friend brought our home her dog because she went to travel. During seven days I took care of Chiqui. Chiqui is samll Jorsay Terrier Toy, his hair is brown and he has a ribbon. Every day I had to go for a walk with Chiqui at 7:00, 15:00, 20:00 and he before going to sleep. I had to comb him, feed and so on. That was fun but I hate to get up early and a dog needs many responsability. For this reason I don't want a dog but my dream came true for some days!!
